Understanding is divine comprehension in your heart that gives you the ability to repeat something at will.
- Whatever you cannot repeat at will, you do not understand.
- In all your getting, get understanding.
- People who get understanding will grow and flourish. (Proverbs 4)
I want to be specific about your knowing that it’s important that you have understanding concerning prayer. You can be defeated in life if you don’t understand the rules of engagement concerning prayer. The enemy could be calling you out on technicalities because of a lack of understanding.

- People of God will perish from a lack of knowledge
It is the gathering of your understanding that causes you to walk in the highest manner of faith. Faith does not come in dimensions, but faith is understood in dimensions. Therefore, when you see someone walking in strong faith, I need you to immediately know it is because of what they understand. It is my expectation that you will leave here knowing how to teach this to your families.
Your house should be a lighthouse for the kingdom of God!

- The wicked one comes when you do not understand the Word

- After you hear the Word, the wicked one comes to snatch it from you (totally disrespecting what you heard)

Understanding will move you into action.

- Be diligent to understand, not just to hear
- More understanding will be given
- How bad do you want to understand the laws and rules that govern prayer?
- Listen with an open heart
Now we understand the subject matter is prayer, but you function at the highest level of the faith when you understand everything that Jesus has already given to you. Because Jesus gave you the measure of faith, you already have all the faith you will ever need.
Say this:
I already have all the faith I will ever need. I already have mountain-moving faith. I already have the raising of the dead kind of faith. You must understand what you already have.
Dr. DeeDee: “When you have understanding, the enemy won’t be able to attack or come up to you at all. He won’t be able to try you in areas that you have understanding. There are some things that you understand and If I was to try to talk you out of it, you would look at me like I’m crazy and that’s how you want to be with the enemy. When the enemy steps to you to try you, on your understanding as it relates to the word of God and what you are entitled to and what God has promised you; you should be able to look at him and say, you came too late for that. Because God has promised us some things. Romans 12:3, says that God has dealt to every man the measure of faith. You have the measure of faith that you need to overcome and conquer every area of your life.”
What is something that we can’t talk people out of?
Dr. DeeDee: “No one can talk you out of your name. You don’t want the enemy to come with some proof that you don’t understand something. You want to know what you know so the enemy won’t be able to come to you and say, ‘see, you thought you knew that’. You thought that you had understood. Pastor Mike is trying to get us to a place, where we have a clear understanding of God’s Word so that we are rooted, planted, and not tossed to and fro, all over the place with a bunch of emotionalisms. I love the teaching environment that he has set up during this time. We’re not trying to take away the dance and the praise and the shouting but when he says sit down and let’s open the Word then he wants your attention. We want your ear. The Bible says those that have an ear to hear, let him hear. God doesn’t just want you to hear because He wants you to hear. God wants you to hear because He wants you to have understanding.”

- Keep ears open and mouth shut
- James 1:19 is the companion scripture to Ecclesiastes 5:1
- Romans 8:26-28 NLT/NKJV
- Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness
- You cannot quote Romans 8:28 without understanding Romans 8:26-27. Because all things do not work together for our good if 26 and 27 has not in place.
- The Spirit Himself, not itself

- Build yourself up on your most holy faith, praying in the spirit
- Ephesians 3:20 TPT
- Praying in the tongues will create possibilities that you couldn’t even think of
- Praying in the spirit gives you access to thoughts above your natural ability
- Pray in the spirit as much as you think of it, and it will unlock the supernatural for your life
Praying in the spirit covers things your mind cannot comprehend. When you pray in the spirit you disconnect from your intellect. You don’t know what you are praying for, but you pray the perfect will of the Father.
