Discipleship in Faith
Noon Day, Wednesday, February 9, 2022 – RECAP/Study Points
There were people who started out watching the entire service, and little by little they started chopping away at the services. They stopped watching the preshow, then they stopped watching praise and worship, to just watching when the Word ministered; until they were no longer tuning in at all. Staying connected and in fellowship with the Word of God requires a level of discipline – that’s where the word disciple comes from. There are a lot of people who are fans of Jesus but not followers of Jesus. It is important that everyone understands the urgency of your right now – staying connected to the Word.
God is committed to your success; I am committed to your success. I just need you to be committed to your success.
2 Timothy 3:16
- All scripture is inspired by God
- All scripture is useful to teach us
- Don’t think for a moment that you have this grand relationship with God, and you are not in the Bible
- Don’t get your relationship with the building confused with your relationship with Jesus – the Bible
- The Word of God is used to make us realize what is wrong in our lives
2 Timothy 4:1-3
- People will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching
- You have Bible apps on your phone, and you carry your phone everywhere. However, Tik Tok has your attention.
- Opening your Bibles on Sundays and Wednesdays does not mean that you have a relationship with Jesus, those standards are what the building has made you think. I am setting you up to open your Bible every day so you will be equipped.
This building has been shut down for a while, but this Pastor has kept you in the Word.
When is the last time you were in your Bible?
You can read one chapter of Proverbs daily to help you grow up in the Bible. Use my notes to begin your studies. This is how you begin to develop a relationship with your Bible.
Proverbs 1:1-8 KJV
- Teach people wisdom and discipline
- If a wise man will increase in learning, then a foolish man will not increase in learning (flip-flop method)
- The operative word that I want you to see is “instructions”
- Need you to understand the importance of following the instructions that I have given you
- Fellowship is built upon how much you are in the Word of God. It’s the Word that will change your life. If you just stay in the building, it does not have the ability to change your life.
Proverbs 4:1-4
- Your heart will never retain something that you have not purposed in it.
Proverbs 4:13
- I am driving this point home concerning instructions because this is the Word of the Lord to and for you. Please follow my instructions…
Proverbs 5:11-15
Proverbs 6:23
Proverbs 8:10
- Make my instructions are greater than silver
Proverbs 8:33-34

Proverbs 9:9-12
- You get the knowledge of the Holy One from the Bible. Are you just going to wait for Sunday and Wednesday? Drink from your own cistern; You have a well, drink from your own well
- Your water is even better than my water. My water is to teach you how to access your water.
Proverbs 10:17
Proverbs 12:1
- He who hates correction… You can tell when someone hates correction because when they are being corrected their entire countenance changes.
- He who hates correction is stupid… Say it “I AM NOT STUPID?” I love correction.
Proverbs 13:1
Proverbs 13:18
- I love someone that can take a good rebuke.
Proverbs 23:23-24
- There is nothing like all your children doing well. He who begets a wise child will delight in him. When you have a child that will follow your instruction, there isn’t anything that you wouldn’t do for him/her. Sometimes we don’t feel like that, but we have been commanded to live by faith. My momma would always speak life over me. Even when I came in the house high, she would call those things that be not as though they were. Call those things that be not over your children.
