Discipleship in Faith

Sunday Jan. 9, 2022- RECAP/Study Points

…this Lesson was interrupted by Holy Spirit

Dr. DeeDee encouraged us to receive this warning as the body of Christ:

“Don’t get thrown off by the inconsistencies of how things are going right now. There are

people at home, you are in your beds, and you are comfortable in that position. However, the

warning is that – that position is keeping you in a place of stagnation; you’re not growing; you

are finding yourself pulling away from the things of God, as never before.”

She admonished us that regardless of where we were, be it at home or in the building, to lean

into the Word of God that is being taught at SOFCC today and always. People are accepting

everything. Morals and integrity are being reduced. You can’t tell people of the world from the

church. It’s time for the light of God to be brighter than ever. We have a role and responsibility

in this earth. Things may not get better when we think they should. However, faith acts like it

already done, until its manifested.

Pastor Mike added: I concur with Dr. DeeDee that people have become comfortable. I call

them, Covid complacencies that have created comforts in our lives that have not altogether

worked for us. Being able to work from home is convenient in some instances and to

reacclimate ourselves might be challenging. Even as it relates to the committee and advisory

staff, who felt that things were still a little risky as it relates to us coming together in the

building. I shared not at the expense of people dying. There has been one kind of death that the

news talks about, but then there is another kind of death that hell is talking about (a spiritual

death). I have been hearing about people who are dying spiritually, and it is an absolute

necessity that they get themselves back into a place of accountability.

We are in the time of II Timothy 4:1-5. Based upon what the Spirit of God prompted Dr. Dee to

say to us, this scripture is accurate.

Some people have not returned because of The Genesis of Apostasy – the beginning of falling

away. We will start allowing little things back into our lives that God brought us out of. We

must begin to address those things, to see where we have fallen off. Where have we missed it?

Inside this pandemic, has been another pandemic at work that’s specifically designed to come

after the believers.

Some of the things that we are allowing to go on in our lives are diametrically opposed the

Word of God. I am standing as a roadblock, a signal to say stop turn around-let’s get back, get

back in alliance with the Word of God, so that long life, peace, and favor with man and God can be upon us.

Offering:

Relative to the three reasons that we give I wanted to add on to them.

• Three Reasons why we tithe/give:

o Love God- John 3:16

o Trust God- Proverbs 3:5

o Prioritize/Honor God- Matthew 6:33

Are Prioritize and Honor synonymous words? No

You can prioritize and not honor; but you cannot honor and not prioritize.

Proverbs 3:1-6 (NKJV)

• We are admonished to not forget the Word of God and to keep His commands.

• v.2 Promises us length of days and long life when we keep His commandments

v.4 We will have favor in the sight of God and Man

• v.5 & 6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths

How many of us acknowledge Him/God in all our ways? What does that mean?

Example: We start a new job; open a new business; start dating someone; join a certain

Pastor or buy a car, we are to acknowledge Him.

Case in point: I was going to buy a car and God didn’t say a thing to me about it. But I

was mature enough to recognize that the promises of God are yes and amen. When I

didn’t hear yes or amen, i didn’t make a move. Unknowing to me, God was trying to get

a car dealership to me. The car dealership came about because I acknowledged God.

Proverbs 3:9-10 (NKJV)

• One of the reasons people are not giving is because they don’t honor God.

Some may say I honor God. However, your giving conveys your love for God.

• Your barns (bank account(s) will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with

new wine (ideas, objectives, aspirations, and goals). God will begin to download into us because we put Him first.

Questions to ask yourself

• Why would God give you more?

• Do I qualify for this?

Lesson:

Take these scripture home, to your workplace, your village, community’s

Ephesians 4:11-14

• I want to teach you so that you can do your part.

• There should be a duplication (replication, imitation) of you.

Matthew 5:13-14 (NKJV)

• God is not interested in salt substitutes.

1 Peter 2:2 (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 3:1-3 (NKJV) Read in TPT and Message Bible also.

Hebrews 5:12-14 (NKJV) Read in TPT and NIV versions also.

• v.12 If you are not teaching maybe, it’s because you have picked up the bad habit of not listening.

• You will know that you are on meat and not milk, when your life is absent of envy, strife, malice, gossip etc.

Questions:

• Who are you teaching the Bible?

• When was the last time you sat down with someone and taught them?

When you’re exiting the buildings there are signs that say, “Let’s Go to Work”, so Let’s Go to

Work!”
