Discipleship in Prayer

Sunday, April 3, 2022 – RECAP/Study Points

It’s so important to know by the word of the Lord and the confirmation of others that you are right where you are supposed to be.

It’s amazing the expansion of our lives in ministry and as we go, so should you go. In your respective fields, you should be expanding. And that’s why the revelation should be in place so that duplication is inevitable. You should be duplicating success from your leaders. You would expect your disciples to produce more than you. It should be accelerated to the next level.

If I can use my time to enlighten even just one individual’s understanding concerning the laws of prayer, then I’ll exhaust that time, just as long as he/she takes it and makes it applicable in life.

There are a lot of pastors that manage people’s dysfunction for their benefit, and they love to see the dysfunctions of people to feel important. So, they don’t want to empower people because that may replace their importance. And, for years, eons, as it relates to the order of ministry, this has been the kind of nonsense that has been going on. So, if I can keep you on red Kool-Aid, you wouldn’t want any kind of Fiji water. Change creates a disruption in your routine. Many people’s relationship is with the building and not the Bible.

Some of you are going to resist change because of the proclivities that are connected to it. One being discomfort. Now, I’m sending you all my notes and I’m instructing you to meet with your families and that’s totally different.

Dr. DeeDee: “It is totally different. But change is good, and I personally would love to just encourage you guys to just stick with it. It may not be all that good in the moment for you because a lot of times we resist it because it requires something from us, and you already worked all week and you want to come in here and just chill and just talk to my pastor. You don’t want any more assignments, but you don’t realize that he is interested in your growth. He wants to see your lives much better so if you just stay with it long enough it will be so gradual you won’t even know what hit you.

You’ll look back up and you’ll see all your needs met and everything you been praying for manifesting in your life. You’ll see your bodies being healed, your bank accounts full, etc.”

The minute you stop growing is the minute you start dying.

A part of my purpose in gathering you and discussing what I’m discussing with you is to instruct you concerning your next. Now, you can remain intoxicated, inebriated, drunk, you can be bent on not staying at work, but I promise you you’re going to wake up in another season wondering why you feel abandoned. And I can’t cry out to you enough. Some of you are functioning addicts. You’ve been doing it so long that there is not even a thought of you doing something that will cause change. You are not making any corrections. It’s just part of your routine. As for me and this house, I want you to be better than the average believer.

If you aren’t asking yourself perpetually about how you got to where you are, you are not evolving. So, I am here to give you instructions of heaven, that’s designed to catapult you into new dimensions of faith, power, and authority. Friends, Romans, and Spirit of Faithians, lend me your ears. Because if I can get your ear, I can change your year. Because life is lived by what you hear, and if you hear wrong, you’re going to live wrong.

Pastor Dewayne: “What I am hearing in what you all are sharing Proverbs 4 comes to mind. It says, ‘get wisdom, but in all your getting, get understanding’ and that’s the key. A lot of people know what they want to do, but they don’t know how to perform what to do and that’s why they’re so stuck. What you are actually doing is trying to drill in the understanding piece because without understanding you can’t pull out what God put in you.”

Well, Proverbs does say that, but the man of understanding will draw it out. So, I’m coming from many different angles with what I want to share with you, but like Dr. DeeDee said on last week, we must live life on a pivot.

Here are three things that we must do to have a successful life.

  1. Make Jesus Lord
  2. Deny yourself
  3. Be led of Holy Spirit

The more you say it, the more you’ll see it…

The more you see it, the more you’ll be it…

The more you’ll be it, the more you’ll conquer…

The more you conquer, the more confident you get… The more confident you get; the more people are influenced by you.

DeeDee and I are here to serve you, but the scripture says let them call on the elders. All of you should be elders of the church. That simply means you are taught, you are mature, and you are equipped to handle matters in the body of Christ and anybody in this ministry can come to you.

Ecclesiastes 5:1 (MSG)

“Watch your step when you enter God’s house. Enter to learn. That’s far better than mindlessly offering a sacrifice, Doing more harm than good.”

Ecclesiastes 5:1 (NLT)

“As you enter the house of God, keep your ears open and your mouth shut. It is evil to make mindless offerings to God.”

At that time, God’s house was a building, but your body is God’s house. You are God’s address. He dwells in you.

Some of your claps are sacrifices. Some of your amens are sacrifices and it’s conflicting with comprehension. Cain made a mindless offering to God. Let your comments be consistent with his commandments.

James 1:19 (NLT)

“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.” But why are some getting it, and some aren’t? Because some are applying it and some aren’t.

Mark 4:24-25 (TPT)

Then he said to them, “Be diligent to understand the meaning behind everything you hear, for as you do, more understanding will be given to you. And according to your longing to understand, much more will be added to you. 25 For those who listen with open hearts will receive more revelation. But those who don’t listen with open hearts will lose what little they think they have!”

Jesus said on many occasions, according to your faith, be it unto you. What did Jesus call revelation when he had that exchange with Peter? He called revelation a rock because he asked Peter, “who do you say the son of man am?” And Peter said, “thou art the Christ, the son of the living God” [revelation]. Jesus said, flesh and blood didn’t give that to you. You opened your heart…more revelation.

When all the other twelve stood around, Peter was commended for leaning in more than the others and he was the one that answered the question with heaven’s answer. Then Jesus said, now let me tell you who you are. Peter explained the Word and the Word explained Peter. Then Jesus said, “and even the gates of hell shall not prevail against you”.

What am I trying to do as your pastor? I want you to become teachers. I’m trying to get you to be in a posture and position in life that even the gates of hell knocked on your door, it would not be able to prevail against you.

Dr. DeeDee: I know even for me, it’s still different, but it’s not difficult. I think we all need to continue to lean in and just hear and receive. Because a lot of times we can quote the scripture, but I want more revelation. The word of God is inexhaustible. It’s always breathing, and I think if we realized that it is always breathing, then we’ll know that all we know is not all there is to know.

Pastor Dewayne: Proverbs 4:7 speak of getting wisdom and the partner that wrote this letter is demonstrating the lessons that you have been teaching and the wisdom and understanding that they have been receiving, through their testimony. That person really represents all the learners. They watched their steps when they entered the gathering. They entered in to learn and it’s not by happenstance. When you look at that word learn, right in the middle of it you have ear (learn), and those that will open their ears will be the ones who will always learn, and when you learn you will always earn (learn).

Question: When do you have them?

Answer: Jesus said, when you pray believe that you receive. The faith exchange is made when you pray.

Mark 11:24

Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

When you are believing God, always know that doubt is going to be at the threshold trying to nullify your faith.
